For Jaspal Jandu, the project entailed travelling many thousands of kilometres across six continents over a four-year period. The volume divides that overall journey into the six regions of North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa. Although each has its own distinct character, they form a collective arc through our single planet.
The journey itself has been both rewarding and difficult – for example, battling the equally pernicious forces of hot and cold has taken its fair share of personal sacrifice, not to mention sacrifice of camera equipment. However, Mother Nature is as inspiring as she is harsh, and the travels have been accompanied by some of the most incredible scenes Jaspal has ever captured.
